Inviting an ex to your wedding can be touchy. You need to be comfortable with your guest list, so be sure to discuss the possibility of inviting exes openly. Just because your fiance remains friends with a past girlfriend doesn’t mean she should be included on your big day. If an ex happens to just show up, we don’t blame you for looking enraged, but simply have someone show him or her the door. Don’t let an unwanted wedding crasher ruin your day!

Has this happened to you? One way to avoid it: Instead of leaving a line for guests to write in their name (and quite possibly an uninvited guest), have the names pre-written or printed so that all they need to do is check the box “is attending.” That should help to deter guests from adding in extra names. If someone does it anyway, the best way to deal is to give them a call. Just be honest. Explain that you would love to have everyone but that because of budget or space constraints, it’s just not possible.
