If money were no object and you could go anywhere in the world, where would you honeymoon? Not since William and Kate headed to the Seychelles, have we been this excited to find out a couple’s honeymoon destination, and we’ve had a lot of fun guessing where the Facebook’s founder and his new wife would turn up.

So I’ve got to admit, I was a bit surprised to find out that Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan followed their surprise nuptials with a romantic Italian honeymoon. That’s right — with the entire world to choose from and no budget limitations, the pair headed to Rome to kick off a romantic Italian getaway, according to US Weekly.

Now, don’t get me wrong — I count Rome among my favorite cities in the world. And with Florence, Venice and Lake Como all a short train ride away, Italy is perfect for couples looking for romance. But I guess the thought of Zuckerberg and Chan touring the Sistine Chapel and sharing gelato on the Spanish Steps just like any other couple, surprises me. I was expecting a private island or a crazy adventure that the rest of us could only dream about experiencing one day.

But the low-key couple’s classic honeymoon choice goes to show that sometimes the most perfect honeymoon spots aren’t the trendiest or the most exotic (or expensive), and there’s a reason why certain destinations (like Italy) have remained the go-to spots for romantic getaways.

We know all about Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan’s surprise wedding and all the details on Chan’s Claire Pettibone wedding dress, but here’s the latest scoop: Chan walked down the aisle with the couple’s dog, Beast! The Daily Mail reports that the fluffy Hungarian sheepdog was just one of many personal details the couple worked into their day — they also served food from their favorite restaurants and a dessert they shared on their first date.

Guests thought they were attending Priscilla’s graduation party but instead witnessed Mark and Priscilla finally tie the knot after 9 years. Congrats to the happy couple!
