Liza Lubell, founder of Brooklyn-based Peartree Flowers, gave the usual red and orange fall color palette a serious update with bright reds and berries. By incorporating fresh flowers like amaryllis, jasmine vine, tulips, ranunculuses, gladiola and carnations and spreading out these large organic pieces on long tables, the florals added a cheery natural element. Best of all? These flowers really pop amongst the muted fall foliage.

For this lush island look Liza combined local Hawaiian flowers with familiar flowers like ranunculuses and garden roses, while indigenous plants like the unique orange cone-shaped ginger and vines clipped from the forest added a local element. As a result, the centerpiece incorporated a Hawaiian influence, but maintained a loose and organic look. Additional centerpieces incorporated different citrus tones. “It’s fun to use a palette that ranges from yellows to orange to incorporate some colors that are in the more mellow range and some that are brighter,” says Liza.

Instead of the standard elastic, Liza Lubell, founder of Brooklyn-based Peartree Flowers used a cream colored silk ribbon to secure these pretty flower corsages to the wrist. Typically worn by the mothers and grandmothers of the bride and groom (as well as other guests of honor like ushers), Lubell created these delicate corsages using soft ivory flowers including musk rose, scabiosa, and olive flowers. The result? Dainty and subtle wrist blooms that look utterly elegant.

For this vineyard wedding, Liza Lubell focused on creating lush garden centerpieces paired with smaller arrangements of textured elements from the larger arrangements for a simple, yet fresh look. The mixed organic arrangements contained garden roses, hydrangeas, dahlias, and fern. Smaller containers of ball dahlias and lambs ear were interspersed in between. This technique of breaking down the centerpieces into different components on the table has an important aesthetic purpose, who says “When you see so many flowers all arranged in one centerpiece it can be difficult for your eyes to focus on the flowers, but when we break it down and space out the flowers are showcased much more.”

Ever heard the saying, it’s the space between the lines that makes the art? Liza Lubell, founder of Peartree Flowers brought the idea to life with this tablescape she created for an event at the ultra-modern Guggenheim Museum in New York City. To add contrast to the white linens and ghost chairs in the white, modern space, Liza played with the containers. ”Sometimes it’s important to not focus on just the flowers, but also think about the containers that they’re in,” says Liza. She juxtaposed all the stark white details with pretty ivory stoneware vases from a New York-based pottery design studio (Judy Jackson Stoneware) and organic, garden-fresh flowers. The result: a look that complemented and added warmth to the space.

The hair bouquet, made of ivory cattleya orchids and garden roses, meshed with the bride’s romantic vintage style and the eclectic venue in New York City’s West Village.

Liza also arranged the bride’s lush organic white bouquet, and gave it an unexpected touch by including different vines like jasmine and passion vine. Both bouquets were inspired by the season of this early September wedding, a time when nature is beginning to transition from summer into fall.
