Your escort card table is a great place to add some of your favorite photos. Maybe it’s photos of the two of you throughout the years, or maybe you honor your family by displaying old family wedding photos. In this case, the bride and groom love to ski — so for their Sundance, Utah wedding, Alison Hotchkiss designed a photo wall above the escort card table that highlighted photos of the couple skiing throughout the years. She tied it all together with a pair of vintage skis that doubled as a guest book! Cool right?

Antique ghost keys attached to labels with twine make the perfect low-fuss vintage escort cards. The calligraphed labels and keys require little else as far as decor to stand out, so a weathered wooden table and sprigs of herbs (try fragrant rosemary!) make an understated statement with rustic charm. Plus, the keys double as a keepsake!

Barb Salzman, founder of Hatch Creative Studio, created an escort card that was both stylish and functional with these rubber stamps. For this intimate, rustic wedding at Blue Hill in Manhattan the bride was stumped when it came to how to address the invitations. Barb’s idea? Create custom stamps for each guest to address the invitations, and then use the rubber stamp as a combined unique and personalized escort card and favor. Not only were the escort cards practical, but they also saved the couple from having to spend on calligraphy and an additional favor. The creativity and ingenuity in this wedding didn’t end with the escort cards either! In lieu of a traditional guest book, guests signed stones for the couple to keep in their home.

Escort cards (or butler cards as they call them in the South!) are one of the first opportunities to wow your guests and Tara Guerard, founder of Soiree by Tara Guerard did just that by creating a genius way to keep the cards from falling flat. Tara crafted these simple, yet stunning holders from 2x4s, added a touch of design, and painted the holders white to match the pink, gold, and champagne decor. By cutting slanted notches into the wood, Tara made it easy for guests to read and find their tables using the calligraphed cards and put a twist on the standard tented escort card.

Just in time for our inaugural post, we were lucky enough receive these charming cookies from Modern Bite in the mail. They came in the form of edible save-the-dates, calligraphed escort cards and mini favors — each finished with a pretty geometric design. And after snapping this photo, some of the other editors and I dove in for a mid-afternoon snack…and let’s just say these buttery shortbread cookies didn’t last long.
