Ellee and Travis translated their love for the California beach lifestyle into a playful and stunning wedding with tons of subtle nautical details. With detailslike an octopus motif on the escort cards and plastic mermaids in the cocktails it’s obvious the couple had tons of fun with the idea. I love how Jackie and Kenny juxtaposed beautiful classic wedding elements — like roses and hydrangeas, a lace wedding dress and tuxedos for the men — with a beach backdrop. Their ceremony took place on Pebble Beach Golf Resort in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony overlooking the romantic cliffs of Carmel Bay. Following the ceremony, family and friends ate dinner at long tables topped with local lavender and plum hydrangeas, antique roses, sweet peas, and other soft summer blooms. How romantic! And it doesn’t hurt that Davina + Daniel‘s photography is truly breathtaking!

Liza Lubell, founder of Brooklyn-based Peartree Flowers created this stunning tropical centerpiece while on location for a wedding in Maui. For this lush island look Liza combined local Hawaiian flowers with familiar flowers like ranunculuses and garden roses, while indigenous plants like the unique orange cone-shaped ginger and vines clipped from the forest added a local element. As a result, the centerpiece incorporated a Hawaiian influence, but maintained a loose and organic look. Additional centerpieces incorporated different citrus tones. “It’s fun to use a palette that ranges from yellows to orange to incorporate some colors that are in the more mellow range and some that are brighter,” says Liza.

For this beachside fete, Mindy Weiss, founder of Mindy Weiss Party Consultants, added a bold, modern twist to this romantic set-up. With an aquamarine table runner and citron seat caps, Mindy created an incredible color block effect. The design was also practical: Every other chair was woven with a citron or aquamarine pashmina for the female guests to keep warm in the cool beach breeze. Mindy was able to achieve this stunning look by sticking to two equally bold colors, and using it for all of the table decor from the napkins, to the glasses and flowers. By keeping the canopy above clean and simple with white draping, the bold colors didn’t overwhelm the design, but added the perfect pop of color.
