One thing I would never leave home without: Ponytail holders for spontaneous top knots. Piece I look forward to every week: "Prettiest Thing In Our Office This Week."

Real Wedding of the Day: Asha & Bryan

After drooling over last night's Met Gala gowns all morning, we couldn't help but post one of our most glamorous couples today. Asha was ahead of the feather-train trend that swept yesterday's red carpet, thanks to her full skirt of layered organza petals. And Bryan's crisp white dinner jacket made their overall look... read more

Real Wedding of the Day: Callie & Kris

Rustic formal... Nope, not an oxymoron. Take it from Callie and Kris' Texas ranch wedding: You can have both, and yes, it totally works. The couple started with an outdoor ceremony, complete with an iron-cross backdrop, covered hay-bail seating and of course bridesmaids in cowboy boots. Then the tented reception space took it up a... read more

Friendly tip, dear Knotties: Think about your photo setups (when, where, how) before the actual day of the wedding. Your photographer will have scouted out some cool spots beforehand, but it's always important to get involved in the photo-planning process and know the game plan for portraits (it is your wedding album after all). That... read more

Photo trend we're digging: the mega group shot! Let's chat style today, shall we? When pulling together your day-of look, make sure you're taking your venue's architecture and overall feel into account. Lauren and Dan, here, are a perfect example. For their modern wedding at the University of Michigan Museum of Art, she opted for a column-like Monique Lhuillier gown (complete with an... read more

Multicultural weddings rock! They're a wealth of varied inspiration, opening all our eyes to new ways of approaching the standard setup. Mukti and Nat started their wedding day at home with an intimate Hindu ceremony in the morning, then exchanged rings in front of their reception guests following the cocktail hour that evening. As for... read more

We’re Obsessed: Quirky Weddings from David Stark

david starkPhotos: Susan Montagna
David Stark is the man. His jaw-dropping, and hilarious, approach to events has landed him on the short list of the most elite designers in the world. (Seriously, he creates entire installations using materials like post-its, pencils and paint swatches. He's beyond.) But he's not just limited to the charity galas and corporate events he's... read more
The right chairs and chair treatments can transform what was a hodgepodge room into something that's elegant and refined. If it's a black-tie wedding, cover every chair in rich, silk fabric and add a coordinating sash. For a wedding that's outdoors, consider using simple chiavari chairs instead of the plastic folding kind. You can also use your chairs to highlight the season. Pay tribute to the time of year by decorating every one of the chairs with a miniature wreath for a winter wedding, or tie fresh blooms to each of the chair backs if you're having a springtime affair.
