Here’s something sweet for your Saturday morning. Mint is one of this year’s hottest colors, but Irene and Brian made it all their own by pairing it with more soft pastel shades to create a whimsical wedding vibe. Summer is my favorite time of year for countless reason, and at the top of my list are all of the bright colors that are (finally!) in season. That’s why I love the colorblock trend, it combines multiple bright and bold colors all at once like aquamarine and citron. So, skip the lace and burlap. Colorblocked wedding details – borrowed from the fashion runways – have wedding planners (and brides!) across the country totally inspired. Steal these fresh new ideas!

Imagine adding one of these to your wedding website? Cue photographers like New York-based wedding photographer Cynthia Chung who recently started making stop-motion moving images (aka animated gif files)  for her clients’ weddings and engagement shoots. To create the file, Cynthia takes several photos in the same spot and then strings them together in a loop using Photoshop to bring the images to life! Fun right?

Even though Summer and Brandon’s wedding venue (the Blanton Museum of Art in Austin, TX) had built in style, the couple brought their own artistic vision to the space and had a colorful, creative wedding. The high school sweethearts initially wanted a rainbow wedding to represent their love of color, but narrowed it down to their favorites instead: aquamarine, peach and neon yellow and kept the look modern with a minimal tablescape and hints of chevron print. Aside from the amazingly fresh color palette, my absolute favorite part of the whole wedding has to be the two adorable flower girls and their darling flower crowns and sparkly Toms shoes. Cute overload!

I love how the courtyard of the Santa Barbara History Museum framed the couples wedding and created a romantic and vintage vibe that was simple and effortless. The couple got engaged in Paris, so they incorporated details like bistro chairs, escort cards in the style of vintage post cards and a cheese course as a nod to their European love affair. Small touches like the overhanging tree and exposed columns added automatic ambiance, so Rachel and John had to add little else to make their day beautiful. Like their wedding, Rachel and John’s wedding video has a dreamy and vintage quality that fit perfectly with the vibe of their wedding.
