George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin Got Their Marriage License in London!

Well, there’s just no easy way to say this: George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin obtained their marriage license in the UK recently, so it looks like the bachelor of all bachelors will officially be off the market soon!

People confirmed the news that first reported with a photo of the license publicly posted outside Chelsea Town Hall in London, which is a legal requirement there. Amal reportedly came alone, since she’s a UK citizen and George isn’t, so he wasn’t legally obligated to be present.

The names on the announcement read George Timothy Clooney and Amal Ramzi Alamuddin, with Italy listed as the wedding location.

UPDATE: George and Amal are getting married in Venice! At an event in Tuscany on Sept. 6, the actor reportedly said, “I met my lovely bride-to-be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying, in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places.”

It looks like our predictions of a September wedding are right! We’re so ready to see photos (and the guest list) of this sure-to-be swanky affair.

George and Amal, a top British human rights lawyer, got engaged in April.

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
