11 Ideas to Steal from Engage14!

Just last month, we had the opportunity to attend a luxury wedding conference called Engage in Colorado. This conference gives us the opportunity to meet and listen to some of the most elite wedding professionals in the industry and it’s one of most perfectly planned, designed and executed events ever. One of the best parts of attending this summit are the parties and the inspiring details — that you can steal for your own wedding!

1) Celeb-Worthy Welcome Bags

While welcome bags aren’t necessarily a new thing, customizing them to your theme and colors and then filling them to the brim with amazing local snacks and basic necessities is. Our welcome bags were personalized for a rustic-mountain theme and inside were snacks that fit perfectly with the theme.

2) Never-Tried-That-Before Cocktails

Out are the days of only one signature cocktail and in are the days of personalized drinks (not only alcoholic!) From smoothies to whiskey shots and lemonade — having a multitude of drinks for your guests at your wedding will please guests of all ages!

3) Custom Cocktail Napkins and Playful Straws

Add striped straws and personalized napkins and you’ve got yourself a party!

4) A Classic Champagne Tower

Celebrate the classic and traditional elements of a wedding such as a champagne tower — which is making quite the wedding comeback!

5) Creatively Themed Food-Stations

We were able to enjoy food from different stations like a cover wagon, a Farmer’s Market salad bar and even a Gluten-Free breakfast bar. We also were able to enjoy roasting marshmellows outside by the fire pit. Guests will remember the attention to detail that you put into their food!

6) Dramatic Chandeliers And Signage

Chandeliers add a layer of luxury to any party by hanging flowers from them or personalizing them to fit a wedding theme. They add a little something extra to any wedding!

7) Bright Flower Installations

8) Flower Arrangements Accessorized With Upcycled Materials

One of the things that Engage does best is the beautiful flowers for every party and event — we were not disappointed with the flowers in Colorado, that’s for sure.

9) The Uber Cake Table (With Coordinating Cake Duos)

We were lucky enough to have two different wedding cakes! Guests will love how two wedding cakes play off and compliment each other to achieve a look!

10) Hosts Paying Attention to Guests’s Needs

While many of us attendees were not used to the 11,000 foot elevation in Colorado, we were offered oxygen bars to help us combat any elevation sickness. Paying attention to guests’s needs like this or providing phone charging stations or fans for an outdoor ceremony are memorable touches that help guests feel comfortable.

11) Tented Lounge Areas

Outside the dessert party, 4 different ‘glamping‘ tents were setup with lounge furniture inside. They were a much more intimate way to relax and catchup with friends.

Another lounge area was setup outside, where we were able to stargaze and spend time taking in the beautiful Colorado weather and scenery, while taking a break from the dance floor!

And just like at a wedding, when the party is over and all the guests have gone home, you’re left with photos and video. The team from I Do Films captured the last two days beautifully in this inspirational video!

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
