See Katherine Webb’s Glam Wedding Garters (and Get the Look!)

K1

Miss Alabama is now Mrs. Alabama! Former beauty queen and model Katherine Webb and fiance AJ McCarron of the Cincinnati Bengals tied the knot on July 12 at the United Methodist Church in Orange Beach, Alabama, after being engaged for four months, according to Us Weekly.

The wedding party consisted of 10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen, and Katherine’s father, Alan Webb, walked her down the aisle.

Katherine wore a custom-made wedding dress and changed into a second gown for the reception. And as for her wedding accessories, the bride wore two different sets of eye-catching jewelry from Haute Bride to complement each of her dresses. The Knot also spoke to Sarah Dobson, owner of La Gartier custom garters, who customized both of Katherine’s garters: one to toss and one to keep.

“Katherine loves the feminine nature of sparkles and fell head over heels for our Vienna garter as soon as she saw it,” Sarah told us. “But we decided that we should add a personal Katherine Webb touch to it, so I suggested we somehow incorporate her and AJ’s initials on the inside of her garter as well as the signature Alabama ‘A.’ So, there are three embroidered patches on the inside of her garter: One has her initials, done in a Southern monogram style, the other has AJ’s initials, and the third has a simple crimson red Alabama ‘A’ on it.”

Katherine also had a second Swarovski crystal garter to toss, which she designed herself!

“She told me she wanted a blush pink satin base with an ivory lace overlay to match her bridesmaid blush pink Sherri Hill gowns and her own blush pink centered wedding color palette,” Sarah continues. “At the center of her garter, we put a matching pink satin bow and two charms: One is a crown encrusted with rhinestones [a nod] to her beauty queen status and one is a silver football for AJ’s life passion. The whole design was from Katherine’s imagination. She has great taste.”

We can see from the garters alone that Katherine loves sparkly accents, so naturally she incorporated bling into her other wedding details. “There was lots of sparkle all around,” Sarah says. “Both of her wedding dresses and her garter have a good amount of sparkle on them.”

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
