Katie Couric Marries John Molner in the Hamptons: See Her Wedding Dress (and Get the Look!)

Katie Couric is officially Mrs. John Molner! Katie and John wed on June 21 in her East Hampton home’s backyard in a small garden ceremony with 50 guests. Their ceremony included readings from Katie’s daughters, Carrie and Ellie, and John’s daughter and son, Allie and Henry. Their strawberry-lemon wedding cake, made by Topping Rose House, was light and summery.

“We wanted to keep the wedding just very low-key,” Katie told People. “This is not my first rodeo so I didn’t want to go too crazy and neither did John.”

Even though the wedding was low-key, Katie’s dress certainly wasn’t! The veteran journalist looked stunning in a gorgeous ivory-beaded and Chantilly lace halter Carmen Marc Valvo wedding dress with a white flower in her chic updo and strappy silver heels. It was no surprise for John, however, since the groom saw the gown before the wedding!

“I hope this isn’t bad luck but I actually tried it on for him,” Katie said. “I tried on a number of dresses and I was so busy, I had a crazy spring… we’re a very modern couple.”

Katie posted a sweet photo of her wedding day and tweeted, “So excited to make my debut as Mrs. John Molner!” She also tweeted, “Thank you to all my wonderful friends sharing in my happiness! I (I mean we!) appreciate the warm wishes, love & support you’ve sent our way.”

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
