Ashlee Simpson’s Bohemian Labor Day Weekend Wedding: 5 Predictions

Ashlee Simpson Evan Ross: Twitter / Twitter

This summer is a busy one for the Simpson family! After Jessica Simpson marries Eric Johnson over Fourth of July weekend, Ashlee Simpson will wed Evan Ross over Labor Day weekend. Even though the sisters are both tying the knot this summer, Jessica will have a more “classic and modern” wedding, while Ashlee’s will have a “bohemian-style vibe,” according to E!. (Remember Ash and Evan’s awesome feathers and fur engagement party?)

The couple’s evening ceremony will be held at Diana Ross’s estate in Greenwich, Connecticut (could you ask for a more fabulous future mother-in-law?), with white lanterns lining the aisle and hanging from tree branches. The outlet also reports that Ashlee’s bridesmaids will not wear matching dresses.

I’m totally on board with a bohemian vibe, which Ashlee has mastered, judging from her red-carpet style alone. Here are my top five predictions for Ashlee and Evan’s wedding:

White Lanterns

These gorgeous white lanterns are modern and chic, and can also serve as the central decor for a simple ceremony.

Sparkly Mismatched Bridesmaid Dresses

Even though the theme is bohemian, I don’t expect Ashlee’s bridesmaids to walk down the aisle wearing anything that isn’t sparkly. These gold mismatched dresses are the perfect mix of boho and vintage.

A Naked Cake

Naked cakes are trendy and offbeat (but can also look super-elegant with flowers), nailing the bohemian theme.

A Christos Costarellos Wedding Dress

The fluttering lace sleeves are delicate, while the low neckline adds a daring appeal that Ashlee loves.

A Food Truck at the Reception

I can only imagine how much fun the reception will be, so a food truck will definitely be needed to serve up fast food during drinks and dancing.

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
