Soccer Star Mario Balotelli Gets Engaged Before the World Cup

World Cup: Mario Balotelli / TheKnot.com Mario Balotelli

That’s one way to start the World Cup! Italy’s AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli proposed to his girlfriend, Fanny Neguesha, on Monday—just five days before Italy takes on England for their World Cup opening game.

Fanny and Mario shared the same picture on Instagram of the proposal spot (maybe a pool or a backyard?) and her gorgeous diamond engagement ring.

Mario wrote, “She said yes.. The most important yes in my life. That was the place of my question! I Love you and happy birthday too ! Je t’aime my WIFE,” while Fanny wrote, “Tonight, I said the most important yes of my Life. That was the best present for my birthday! I love you first and unique husband.”

Congrats to Fanny and Mario!

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
