What This Bride’s Brother Did at Her Wedding Will Definitely Make You Cry

Wedding Video: Michael LaFrance / TheKnot.com Michael LaFrance

If you’re at work reading this and you have mascara on, you may want to wait until people start shuffling out for happy hour to watch this amazingly sweet and heartbreaking video. When Andrea Middleton got married, she did so without her father, Mark, who had passed away from pancreatic cancer earlier in the year.

Her brother, Nick Middleton, steps in when it would have been time for the father-daughter dance at her wedding and says, “We’re missing someone pretty important this evening that would be obviously here for the dance with his little girl.”

That’s when my waterworks started, leading on to a special surprise from Andrea and Nick’s grandfather, other brother and her new father-in-law, involving a special version of Butterfly Kisses.

Watch the viral video here (but have your tissues ready):

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
