5 Predictions for Jessica Simpson’s Fourth of July Wedding

Jessica Simpson: Just Jared / TheKnot.com Just Jared

After being engaged since 2010, Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson have finally set a wedding date, y’all! We really shouldn’t be surprised that, according to Us Weekly, she chose the weekend of Fourth of July for her nuptials, since she’s as all-American as it gets. The outlet reported that she and Eric are getting married in Santa Barbara, California, (wine country!) and she’s also having a “unique” wedding dress made that’s totally unlike the famous Vera Wang ball gown she wore when she wed Nick Lachey.

I’m thinking lots of elegant comfort food with Americana-style flair at the reception (it’s the Fourth, after all!). Here are my top five predictions for Eric and Jessica’s wedding:

A Romona Keveza Wedding Dress

After being engaged for four years and having two children, I’ve got no doubt that Jessica will want to flaunt what she’s got in a pink and subtly sexy gown.

A Vineyard Reception

Since Santa Barbara is known for its vineyards, what’s more gorgeous or fun than a big reception at one?

Hamburger and French Fry Appetizers

Not having an adorable assortment of hamburgers, hot dogs and french fries on the Fourth of July just isn’t right!

A Signature Lemonade Cocktail

The same goes for a signature lemonade cocktail! I know that Jess is a big celeb, but I also think she’s still a down-home Texas girl at heart who appreciates a sweet beverage in a mason jar.

A Fireworks Display

When Jessica does something, she does it big — so fireworks on the Fourth is the perfect way to end the night!

Want more? Of course you do!

Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross wore feathers and fur at their engagement party!

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
