We Can’t Get Over How Stunning Amal Alamuddin’s Engagement Ring Is!

George Clooney: PopSugar / TheKnot.com Pop Sugar; NY Daily News

It’s not like George Clooney goes around proposing every day, so when he actually did, he sure got it right! Now that we have a good look at his fiancee Amal Alamuddin‘s engagement ring, we’re kind of dying of envy. You can see it here.

Amal’s bling (and do we mean bling) is an ethically mined emerald-cut diamond that People estimates to be at over seven carats! The two tapered baguettes are also set in platinum alongside what looks to be a yellow diamond that he helped design.

The outlet also reports that George proposed traditionally by getting down on one knee and previously met Amal’s family in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in March. When you’re done swooning, check out these five gorgeous look-alike sparklers!

Honestly, the first ring in the list below looks far prettier. But it’s a shame that all that money was put to use in such a way.

George Clooney spends millions of dollars each year helping peace activists track warlords in Africa. Let the guy buy a ring for his fiancee.

Brilliant rings. I am a big fan of anything yellow diamonds. Fancy intense or vivid. And it really helps to have a few beautiful accent diamonds to go with the yellow diamond. That all said, it is true that too much money is spent on material items—especially anything wedding related in the US :-)

I hope he gets through with it and don’t get cold feet. She is not beautiful per se but she certainly is very smart… glad to know he is not just into ‘looks’ but brains and values too.

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
