This Stunning Wedding Was Filled With Irish Heirlooms!

A surprise bagpipe and Irish dance performance was only the beginning.  “Brian and I both come from Irish families so it was very important to us to pay tribute to our Irish heritage and incorporate some authentic Irish traditions,” says Lauren. Lauren and Brian’s Irish wedding maintained a delicate balance between classic and cultural without taking Kelly green to the extreme. “We wanted the reception to be elegant but have more of a casual pub feel to it so we had several types of Irish beer including Guinness, authentic signs from Ireland, pictures from our travels there, tall vases with Belles of Ireland floral and a sign that read ‘Fitz’s Pub’ when you entered the room,” describes Lauren. Oversized gold candelabra centerpieces overflowing with lush ivory arrangements added a sense of formality to the Pine Ridge Country Club’s grand ballroom, contrasting the bar’s traditional pub vibe. The best part? Vintage green-glass heirloom tumblers, an antique crystal and gold dessert table designed by A Charming Fete, and a handmade tulle table skirt completed the elegant reception.  “We incorporated many of our Irish décor items from our home that were given to us by friends and family members over the past few years which all have a special meaning,” says Lauren. Lauren Gabrielle Photography captured the timeless champagne, ivory and emerald décor here and below.

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
