The Five All-Time Best Celebrity Updos You Could Wear For Your Wedding

We love looking through old celebrity pictures. Seriously, we do it just for fun. But it’s also a great place to find inspiration for your wedding hair and you don’t need to limit yourself to pictures from this year’s Golden Globes.

Here are five updos that we think stand the test of time and would look just as good coming down a wedding aisle in 2014 as they did when they debuted on the red carpet (or movie set).

Rachel McAdams

Rachel looks pretty darn beautiful every time she hits a red carpet, but we’re pretty sure this is our favorite look of hers EVER. The braids are perfection and you could work in the colors of your own wedding via the flower in the hair.

Audrey Hepburn

You didn’t think we could do an updo story without one of the most iconic style ever: the Breakfast at Tiffany’s! A vintage jewel piece in your hair works whether you’re wearing a veil or not.

Gwyneth Paltrow

You can never, ever go wrong with a classic bun and slicked back hair. It simply never goes out of style and Gwyneth knew that way back in the ’90s when she won her Oscar.

Charlize Theron

We’re obsessed with every single thing about this hairstyle: the softness of the waves in the front, the slight messiness of the side  bun, and of course that jeweled headband.

This vintage Beyoncé style is not for the subtle bride. But the combination of a giant top knot and a braid is pretty fantastic—and would look amazing with a veil coming down the back.

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
