A Look Back At Shirley Temple’s 1945 Wedding Day

Today we’re celebrating the life and legacy of actress Shirley Temple Black who is an American icon who will definitely be missed. Shirley was married twice and in our opinion was one of the most iconic brides of all time. Her wedding to John Agar in 1945 was a massive 500 guest affair, and Shirley is definitely one of our favorite wedding style icons. While Shirley is most well known as a little girl in curls (she was one of the most famous celebrities of the 1930s) after her film career, Shirley pursued politics she ran for public office and became the National Ambassador to Ghana.  See a few photos from Shirley’s first wedding below!

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
