French Brides Are Taking Wine to Another Level

Leave it to the French to find eternity at the bottom of a glass—or barrel—of wine. Turns out the by-products of the wine making process (pits, pulp and grape skins) possess powerful antiaging properties. Polyphenols, natural compounds found in grape seeds, reduce damaging free radicals in the body, and resveratrol, a compound found in the skin of red grapes, spurs new cell growth and firms skin. The discovery has spawned a whole new side business for vintners, some of whom have opened spas offering a luxurious menu of facials, wraps and scrubs designed to prime a bride for her close-up—all while she sips on a glass of chardonnay. Santé!

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
