This Lighthouse Wedding Takes Nautical To A Whole New Level

Her grandparents own a lighthouse and her mother is a wedding planner  — how lucky can a girl with dreams of a nautical wedding get?

Taylor and Scott’s surfside ceremony took place outside of a renovated lighthouse overlooking Lake Superior. The couple married under an elegant chandelier hanging from the tulle-covered altar, as guests sipped on beer and wine throughout the outdoor ceremony. “I have to say, the view of the arbor on the rocks was my favorite,” says Taylor. “There was something about the natural beauty of the lake behind the chic beauty of the arbor that was so stunning.”

As the daughter of a planner from The Dream Team Weddings & Events, Taylor had all the help she needed when it came time to start planning her waterfront wedding to Scott— she had her own live-in planner!

Taylor’s mom helped to pull together all of the unique personal touches throughout the navy and ivory reception held at Surfside on Superior and Meg Ann Photography artfully captured all of the thoughtful décor. Message in a bottle favors, anchor and rope boutonnieres and a striped wedding cake completed the nautical inspired theme. Check out all of the whimsical, nautical inspiration here and below!

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
