We recently sent Save the Dates out for our wedding and we did a lot of research before deciding that we wanted to do them ourselves. We came to the realization that we really wanted to have creative control as well as a handle on the cost.

We ended up going to Paper Source to pick out the perfect paper colors, bought a personalized stamp kit and address sticker labels. In the end, we end up investing the time to do things ourselves and came out with something we were really happy with!

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
