Pharrell Williams Wore Plaid On His Wedding Day

Yep, you read that right. Singer and media mogul Pharrell Williams wore a red tartan tux to his Miami yacht wedding this past weekend. It gets better though — his model wife Helen Lasichanh coordinated in a navy and green tartan wedding gown accessorized with a tiara! We’ve seen plaid invitations and even a plaid bridal bouquet, but a plaid tux and wedding dress combo is definitely a first for us.

Although technically the two officially married in a secret ceremony in August, this was their big reception for family and friends. The wedding reportedly started on the Never Say Never yacht and then the party wrapped up at the Kampong National Tropical Botanical Gardens in Coconut Grove, Florida. And if you’re Pharrell Williams then the following details were an obvious choice: Usher and Busta Rhymes performed and celebrity photographer Terry Richardson captured it all on camera.

PS If you like the look of Helen’s tartan dress, this number from Hayley Paige‘s Spring 2014 collection gets you a similar same style without the color.

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
