Tina Turner Wears Green to Her Wedding and Enforces An All-White Dress Code

In a classic diva move (we’d expect no different), Tina Turner requested that female guests wear white or beige and male guests wear black tuxedos to her wedding in Zurich, Switzerland this past Saturday. The bride’s gown? A custom emerald green gown by Giorgio Armani!  She and her longtime partner of 27 years, Erwin Bach, reportedly were married in a small and intimate Buddhist ceremony earlier this month but the celebration this weekend at her Swiss estate, Chateau Algonquin, was much bigger and more lavish (you know, like over-70,000-roses type of lavish). White and black-tie-dressed guests included Oprah Winfrey, David Bowie, and, even Tina’s gown designer Giorgio Armani.

TT isn’t the only celeb to have a required dress code. Other notable celebrities include Sean Parker (guests wore costumes designed by the costume designer for the Lord of the Rings trilogy), Kim Kardashian (guests were required to wear black and white) and Beyonce and Jay Z (their guests wore all white too).

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
