From your wedding day to everyday, these summer-friendly secrets from the pros will keep you looking your best.

Get Healthy, Wedding-Ready Hair

With the summer humidity at full steam, keep your frizz under control by regularly using a frizz-fighting serum to prep your locks. Comb a few drops through your wet hair to be sure it’s evenly distributed. Tabatha Takes Over star Tabatha Coffey recommends Oribe Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil. “It not only fights frizz, but also protects hair from harmful UV rays,” she says. Celebrity hairstylist Sean James of Fred Segal Salon advises to “shampoo less (three times a week is as often as you should be shampooing your hair) and put the hot tools down.” Any opportunity away from the blow-dryer will do your tresses good.

Protect Your Skin With Your Makeup

Adding BB cream to your daily makeup routine will even out your skin while protecting it too. “The advantage of beauty balms is that they’re a makeup, cosmeceutical and sunscreen all in one—simplifying your skincare regime,” says Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank, MD.

Show Off A Sexy Summer Glow

We can’t stress enough the harms of UV rays and tanning beds. And today, achieving a totally natural-looking faux glow has never been easier. If you’re using an at-home self-tanner, start building your tan about two weeks before your wedding date. You’ll need the extra time to fine-tune your technique and find the right hue for you. Celeb dermatologist, Debra Jaliman, suggests St. Tropez Self-Tan Bronzing Mousse. “It’s easy to apply and gives off the best natural color,” but don’t forget to use a gentle body scrub and moisturizer before each application.

Get A Brighter, Whiter Smile

While an ice-cold soda sounds like a refreshing way to beat the heat, you may want to reconsider. “Extreme temperatures make teeth more porous and likely to absorb stains,” says Beverly Hills dentist to the stars Arthur Glosman, DDS. If you do indulge, brush. Try to clean teeth immediately after consuming anything that’s highly pigmented, Glosman recommends. Don’t have a toothbrush and paste handy? “Give your mouth a good rinse with water — or pop in a stick of sugarless gum as a backup,” he suggests.

Try: An apple! Not only is it a superfood, it’s a great way to clean your teeth in a pinch.

Get Kissable Lips

Just as you would cover your face with SPF to prevent sun damage, you should also give your lips the same special treatment, advises Kim Baker, celeb makeup artist and founder of Glam 4Ever Makeup Studio. She suggests a SPF lip balm of at least 15. You can wear it alone or under lipstick or gloss.

Maintain Your Manicure

The summer heat can really dry out your skin, including your nails. Nail guru Jin Soon Choi suggests using “cuticle oil daily to prevent cuticles from looking ragged.” Then, reapply a topcoat to get a fresh shine before all wedding-related festivities to be ready to show off your gorgeous ring!

Try: L’Occitane Cuticle & Nail Cream, $18
