What to Wear to All Your Other Bridal Parties

Your wedding dress is probably the most important fashion decision you’re going to make for your wedding, but it’s not the only outfit you need to think about in the next few months. Chances are you’re going to have an engagement party, bridal shower, bachelorette party and rehearsal dinner and you’ll need killer outfits for all those events too. Our stylist friend Lucy Sykes from Rent The Runway put together a few perfect looks for each of your wedding-related celebrations.

What to wear to your… engagement party

Engagement Party

“A lace sheath is sophisticated yet festive. Choose one in a cool blue tone that will flatter the skin tone of any bride-to-be. Opt for a crystal bracelet to give you some sparkle that won’t compete with the texture and bright color of your dress.”

Gown, Vera Wang “Tulum Waters Sheath” (Retail $1295 | Rental $175); bracelet, Kenneth Jay Lane “Lady Diana Bracelet” (Retail $495 | Rental $60)

What to wear to your… bridal shower

 Bridal Shower

“Look for a dress with a unique detail like this saturated watercolor print.  The full, playful skirt, paired with a timeless pearl necklace makes this garden party dress as chic as it is feminine.”

Dress, Lela Rose “Don’t Mind if I Do Dress” (Retail $1,495 | Rental $200); necklace, Ben-Amun “Victorian Crystal Statement Necklace” (Retail $345 | Rental $45)

What to wear to your… bachelorette party

Bachelorette Party

“You might as well go all out for a wild night out with your gals. After all, how often do you get the chance to wear a full-on hot pink sequin dress? Play up your look with edgy earrings made out of black crystals.”

Dress, Versus by Versace “Pink Spotlight Dress” (Retail $695 | Rental $100); earrings, Alexis Bittar “Deco Web Dangle Earrings” (Retail $375 | Rental $45)

What to wear to your… rehearsal dinner

Rehearsal Dinner

“The perfect party dress has a classic cut and bold pop of color. The mesh clutch polishes off this look and makes it just right for a night of celebration!

Dress, Theia “Hybrid Tea Rose Dress” (Retail $595 | Rental $90); clutch, Whiting & Davis “Black Mesh Glam Clutch” (Retail $158 | Rental $25)

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
