A Jewel Tone Bohemian Wedding in Austin by Eclectic Images

Of all the weddings we’ve ever featured on The Knot Blog, Alex and Alex’s wedding is one of my favorites because it mixes the offbeat vibe of Austin, home of famed music festival SXSW, with a rustic bohemian style. Plus, Alex and Alex’s wedding is filled with DIY touches you won’t believe were handmade. Take, for example, the floral invitations and programs, which were actually painted by the bride! The wedding colors were a mix of bright jewel tones like deep purples, orange, golden yellow and fuchsia mixed with a hint of metallic provided by amber mercury glass centerpieces. Altogether the color palette is the perfect nod to the fall season without being predictable. Check out the photos and you’ll fall in love with this wedding too!

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
