How Much? Kristin Cavallari & Jay Cutler’s $14,500 Registry
Chicago Bears Quarterback, Jay Cutler and fiancee, former MTV reality star Kristin Cavallari are in the midst of planning their July 13th Tennessee wedding and we have come across their wedding registries at Williams-Sonoma and Crate&Barrel. Their registry is totaled at nearly $14,500 — which sounds like a lot compared to the average U.S. couple’s $5,158 registry. Kristin and Jay are part of the 12% of U.S’s couples that registry’s add up to more than $10,000!
The gifts on their registry include items at all price points including a $1.29 ‘Oval Sauce Dish’, to the staple KitchenAid mixer in ‘majestic yellow’ at $350. The couple registered for nearly $8,000 in wedding china including 48 Haviland Tambour Dessert Plate’s which at around $79 dollars each is nearly $4,000 in dessert plates alone!
Other interesting tidbits about their registry: it includes 4 different cake platters, cooking books, a double patty burger press, an apple slicer and a special fish spatula.
So Knottie’s what do you think — how much is too much when it comes to registering for gifts? Is Jay and Kristin’s registry too much?

It never occurred to me we should have a general idea of the total value of our registered items. Most of our items are in the $25-$75.00 range….we’ve got some very affordable items, such as towels, table linens, Christmas ornaments, holloween decorations, wrapping paper, gift cards, candles, cookie cutters, and cookbooks – and a very few higher end items (meaning about $100-$150 – such as a tiller for yardwork and a wine rack/bar shelf for the corner of the dining room we found on overstock.)
Perhaps because of the people they know, the couple in this article don’t feel that their items are unrealistic. What I guess would make more sense to me is if they used their own (presumably) high incomes to buy those really pricey items, and keep their registry to a list of more typically priced items. Then again, some couples might think my fiance and I are being disrespectful because of our 2-3 items over $100.00. I’ve also heard that gift cards are considered disrespectful and tacky by some standards of the registry. For the record, we don’t have a KitchenAid Mixer BECAUSE I felt it was too expensive to ask for such an item.

That’s a bit pricey, and who would even bring all those expensive gifts without knowing if they are secure or not, i would never bring an expensive gift without knowing security would be there to make sure someone’s crazy guest doesn’t try to take it!
Ive been to a wedding like that. tasteless, my other friend who attended wanted to make sure it didn’t happen to her so she hired this security company called guardnow to secure there wedding. they were actually really good highly recommend them! here’s the link
