Alison Hotchkiss took “tying the knot” literally by incorporating rope accents into the decor of this “J.Crew meets nautical” wedding. Rope was used on everything from the deconstructed chandeliers, to the curtain ties, and on invitations and other paper materials. To complete the nautical look, Alison added accents like stripes to the navy color palette with warm hues of pink that added a bright contrasting color. Rough and unexpected textiles like burlap and twine are becoming popular elements in wedding decor. A textured look provides an eye-catching contrast to soft linens and colors.
