Vera Wang and Tara La Tour

The one you know: Vera Wang (top left)
Even your most fashion-averse groom knows Vera Wang. What he may not know is that all her gowns are masterfully crafted and have signature touches like organza petals and light-as-air skirts. Beaded gown, $5,500,; engagement ring, $8,620 (not including center stone),; earrings, $3,080,

The one to watch: Tara LaTour (top right)
Newcomer Tara LaTour takes after Vera Wang in that she magically mixes killer construction with interesting textures and weightless details (note the ostrich feathers in this airy skirt). Gown, $3,410,; ring, $3,420 (not including center stone),; earrings, $6,490,

Elie Saab and Myra Callan

The one you know: Elie by Elie Saab (top left)
This talented couture dressmaker’s defining traits are his use of embroidered lace, his love of handmade details and his meticulous attention to the movement of his gowns. Elie by Elie Saab for Pronovias gown, $13,446,; ring, $6,225 (not including center stone),; hair comb, $329,

The one to watch: Myra Callan Bridal (top right)
After establishing a huge following for her enchanting Twigs & Honey headpieces, Myra Callan debuted her first bridal collection this past fall. The result: gowns that capture that same sense of wonder and whimsy. Gown, $2,380, and cape, $990,; earrings, $5,500,

The one you know: Lazaro (top left)
Lazaro Perez knows how to skillfully balance the fine line of being sexy without being showy. His secret? Combining slim-fitting silhouettes with understated yet rich textures and embroidery. Lazaro gown, $4,620,; ring, $3,190 (not including center stone),; earrings, $225,

The one to watch: Kelly Faetanini (top right)
This young designer is all about creating gowns with a fresh and feminine perspective. A perfect example? This fashion-forward scalloped peplum that’s trimmed with romantic lace (psst…the peplum is also detachable). Gown, $3,275,; ring, $6,225 (not including center stone),; earrings, $20,800,; veil, $87,

Special thanks to Catherine Sheppard for fashion styling, Erin Skipley for hair and makeup, Jeni Maus of Found Vintage Rentals for prop styling, Steven Moore Designs for the flowers and Jennie Ma, our fashion editor.

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
