A Tribute to Bridal Fashion Designer Manuel Mota

One of the bridal fashion greats of our time Manuel Mota, creative director for Pronovias, passed away on Tuesday at age 46. We at The Knot are all crushed by the loss of such a talented and kind man.

Pronovias president Alberto Palatchi has reached out and said “The Pronovias Family has lost one of its most beloved members. We are left with the memory of his collections, his shows, his hard work, his talent and his passion. Manuel was a great man, a great colleague, a great artist and, above all, a great person. At this difficult time, I would like to express on behalf of the entire team our deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones. We will never forget him.”

I own The Wedding Bell in Okemos Michigan. We have carried Pronovias for close to 20 years. Mota was truly an amazing designer! He was always on the leading edge of fashion! I had the honor of attending 7 of his bridal fashion shows in Barcelona, truly an artist!! Our thoughts go out to his family and all those at Pronovias.
