It’s one of our favorite Monday nights of the year, the season finale of The Bachelor! Who will get the final rose and the rumored 4.3-carat, platinum Neil Lane engagement ring from the handsome, Sean Lowe — Catherine or Lindsay? In honor of the finale tonight, we rounded up a few of our favorite engagement rings from the past 25 seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette!
Season: 10 of The Bachelor Couple: Andy Baldwin & Tessa Horst The Ring: A 1 carat Chopard diamond ring, set on a single platinum band. Break-up Details: 8 months after the engagement, Tessa allegedly broke up with Andy while he was deployed in the Pacific.
Season: 12 of The Bachelor Couple: Matt Grant & Shayne Lamas The Ring: A stunning three-stone engagement ring from Tacori. The 2.85 carat ring had two brilliant white diamonds surrounded by a round central stone, with round diamonds that decorated the top shoulders and sides of the band. Break-up Details: The couple broke up after a 2 month engagement citing that “they were heading in different directions”
Season: 13 of The Bachelor Couple: Jason Mesnick and Melissa Rycroft The Ring: A hand-crafted Neil Lane marquise-cut diamond and platinum ring, that was encrusted and set with 170 smaller diamonds for a total weight of 3.18 carats. The center diamond was a 1.94-carat marquise-cut diamond. Break-up Details: Who can forget the accepted proposal and the breakup the next hour, during the reunion special where Jason realized he was meant to be with the girl he turned down, runner-up Molly Malaney. Another tidbit – Molly and Jason are now married with a daughter!
Season: 14 of The Bachelor Couple: Jake Pavelka & Vienna Girardi The Ring: Jake proposed with a stunning hand-crafted Neil Lane platinum, princess-cut diamond ring. The center stone weighed 2.02 carats was encrusted with 70 pave diamonds for a total weight of 2.72 carats. Break-up Details: The couple had a very public and vicious breakup that played out on a special reunion of The Bachelor . Accusations flew on both sides from both Vienna and Jake with Jake storming out of the interview.
Season: 15 of The Bachelor Couple: Brad Womack and Emily Maynard The Ring: Another hand-crafted 3 carat Neil Lane engagement ring which had 263 round brilliant-cut diamonds around a central cushion-cut diamond. Break-up Details: The couple broke-up after a 3 month engagement, after months of speculation. Emily hoped that her daughter Ricki could “move on and get back to normal.”
Season: 16 of The Bachelor Couple: Ben Flajnik & Courtney Robertson The Ring: A hand-crafted Neil Lane cushion-cut diamond engagement ring, that featured an intricately carved platinum motif setting, accented by 96 round-cut diamonds with an approximate total diamond weight of 3 carats. Break-up Details: The couple split after a year of being together – which is a lot longer than other couples! Courtney has been linked to former Bachelorette contestant Arie Luyendyk Jr since the break-up.
Season: 4 of The Bachelorette Couple: DeAnna Pappas and Jesse Csincak The Ring: Jesse proposed with a 2.3-carat Tacori princess-cut engagement ring. It had channel-set princess-cut-diamonds that tapered into trapezoids to illuminate the princess-cut center stone Break-up Details: DeAnna and Jesse were engaged nearly 5 months, before DeAnna allegedly told Jesse “I love you, but I’m not in love with you” – ouch!
Season: 5 of The Bachelorette Couple: Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski The Ring: A Neil Lane platinum 2.05 carat pear-shaped center diamond with six baguette cut diamonds on either side and an additional 94 round cut diamonds for accent. Break-up Details: The couple broke up amidst rumors that Ed was spotted flirting with other women.
Season: 6 of The Bachelorette Couple: Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez The Ring: A 3.03 carat Neil Lane ring with a central assher-cut diamond, that was accented by 184 round brilliant cut diamonds in a fine hand-made setting. Break-up Details: After being engaged for 18 months, the couple broke up in November of 2011. However – they were spotted at Ashley Hebert & JP’s wedding back together!
Season: 7 of The Bachelorette Couple: Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum The Ring: A 3.5 carat, hand-made Neil Lane ring with a cushion cut diamond, accented with 162 round cut diamonds. Break-up Details: They just got married! We don’t ever want this couple to break-up!
Season: 7 of The Bachelorette Couple: Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum The Rings: Neil Lane worked with the couple to design a handmade, platinum band with French-cut diamonds in the middle surrounded by round diamonds on the side. And JP wanted something stylish and unusual, but not “blingy.” The result – a platinum band with a raised elliptical edge in the middle. Break-up Details: None -- they are newlyweds!
Couple: Emily Maynard and Jef Holm The Ring: A 2.5-carat emerald-cut diamond with 87 smaller round-cut diamonds set around the main gemstone and on the band. Designed by Neil Lane. Break-up Details: This break-up broke our hearts! 3 months after the happy ending on the show, the couple announced their breakup amidst rumors of Emily cheating on Jef with NFL player Matt Leinart.
