Liz Lemon’s Hilarious Save-the-Date

People.com People.com

Mark your calendars 30 Rock fans, Liz Lemon is getting married! NBC sent out quirky Save-the-Date cards to get viewers to tune in for the November 29th nuptials at 8 p.m.

We’ve seen tons of televised weddings— but the fictional nuptials of Ms. Elizabeth Miervaldis Lemonto to Mr. Crisstopher Rick Chross should be an interesting affair, though “not in a creepy way that perpetuates the idea that brides are virgins and women are property.”

Our expectations? A sweatpants-only dress code, Jack Donaghy as the dignified man-of-honor, an awkward garter moment, her ex-boyfriend crashing the ceremony, and chocolate cake– EVERYWHERE. Basically everything will go wrong and we want to be watching when it does… is that cruel?

Oh, and if you are planning to watch, don’t forget to bring your own snacks.

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
