Does Miley Cyrus Already Have Cold Feet?

Miley Cyrus is featured on the September 2012 cover of Marie Claire after giving an exclusive interview to the magazine on her engagement and upcoming marriage to Gael from The Hunger Games aka Liam Hemsworth. Quite frankly I think she went for the wrong Hemsworth brother, but the heart wants what the heart wants I guess! The tabloid world has gone crazy over teasers like, “I don’t really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we’ve made to each other. And we want to have a long engagement.”

Is this proof that the 19-year-old and her 22-year-old beau got engaged before they were ready or does it mean they both have their heads on straight and are taking things slowly? Compared to other Hollywood darlings that have come of age in the limelight, Miley seems to have more perspective on her fame and lifestyle.

It’s unclear what a “long engagement” actually means in Hollywood lingo anyway. The typical bride takes about a year to plan a wedding, but celebs throw together elaborate affairs within weeks, sometimes days, of getting engaged. It’s possible that a long engagement for Miley translates to an average length engagement for everyone else. At least a longer engagement gives us more time to speculate on what the wedding will look like! Perhaps the discomfort over Miley’s engagement stems from the fact that it seems like only a few short years ago Miley hopped off the plane at LAX with a dream and her cardigan.

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
