Gay Pastor Throws Wedding Reception in Malaysia
Photo: The Associated PressAfter getting married to his music producer boyfriend in New York last year, Malaysia’s first openly-gay pastor Rev. Ngeo Boon Lin finally carried out his vow to host a wedding banquet in his native country Saturday, reportedly making it the first event of its kind in the predominantly Muslim country.
The Associated Press reports that Lin, who is Chinese-Malaysian, and his American husband Phineas Newborn III gathered about 200 close friends and family members for a Chinese wedding feast in Kuala Lumpur. Guests enjoyed heart-shaped chocolates wrapped in notes that read “God loves gays,” and listened to karaoke performances throughout the night.
The event closely follows recent reports of Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak’s statements declaring that gay, lesbian and transgender culture should “not have any place in this country.”
“We’re thankful to be able to make Malaysian history here,” Newborn told the Associated Press.
Congrats to Ngeo and Phineas for making waves on behalf of the LGBT community in Malaysia!

Hello, my name is Tom and I am wanting really bad to open up a unique business in a small town in Ohio.
The idea is to have a Wedding Chapel, a photography studio and a graphics business all in the same business.
The plan is to advertise a business where any couple with a marriage licence can come in to my establishment, get married, have photos done and get personalized items of any kind including “just married” license plates, magenteic signs and tee-shirts all in the same visit.
I also, and this is the most important thing, want to offer commitment ceremonies to same sex couples who at this point cannot legally get married in Ohio. I will offer them the opportunity to have a commitment ceremony, complete with a beautifully framed certificate. And further will offer them the opportunity to come in when the law allows and have their marriage legalized with out any extra cost.
With the equipment, I am also wanting to help out the community, churches, schools, etc, by offering them the opportunity to hold fund raisers selling shirts, hats, signs, license plates and car window decals showing their commitment to their organization while at the same time earning money for their charities, etc.
To my knowledge and I have done research there is no business like this anywhere in our area and I have no doubt that it will be a success.
Finally, I want to make it known that I am an ordained and licensed minister and have the right to perform wedding ceremonies in the state of Ohio. Also, I have done graduation pictures for seniors for years. Further, I have over 20 years of business management experience.
With all the above in mind, I am trying to find someone who believes in same sex relationships, gay activists and people who want to see help go to organizations in the community, including churches and schools, to offer me a one time private business grant somewhere between 400 to 600 thousand dollars so I can get this operation started. I am kind of in a hurry because there is a church complex for sale in my town and I would like to use this complex for this endeavour. Just so you know I am not in this for the profit, although I know it will, I am in it because I have forever wanted to come up with an organization that I can use to help people that otherwise wouldn’t get the help they need.
Thank you and God Bless to all. My e-mail is ikabalmot@yahoo.com. If you have money to donate, believe that same sex relationships should have the same rights as anyone else and believe in people wanting to help churches and school kids do fundraisers to be able to do activities that they otherwise couldn’t afford, e-mail me and we both can benefit, you can write it off as a donation and I can help people and at the same time, spread the word that all people should be treated equally, not matter what their sexual orientation is.
Thank you –Tom
