Paris Haute Couture With Wedding Worthy Style

Drum roll, please. It’s one of my favorite times of the year: Paris Couture Fashion Week! This fashion event began in the French capital with powerhouse designers such as Chanel, Dior, Armani Prive, and more. With Marc Jacobs, Donatella Versace, and Diane von Furstenberg all in the front row, let the influence unveil.

Donatella Versace paid tribute to her late brother, Gianni Versace, with her collection at the Hotel Ritz. It was her first time returning to the house's original stomping grounds since 1997. Corseted designs in rich jewel tones made their way down the runway to display inspiration from tarot cards and powerful metaphors. Despite her apprehension, Donatella dazzled.

Christian Dior

Monday night in paris was the debut of new designer Raf Simons, for Christian Dior (only the fifth designer since the company's birth in 1946). The highly anticipated collection that modernized on the New Look's cinched waist was a hit! The "flower woman" silhouette was respected, and not forgotten. But, with fresh styles and modern flares, change can be a good thing.

Karl Lagerfeld took his theme of "New Vintage" to an entirely new level. Mademoiselle Coco's love of a tweed suite and elegant styling was brought back to life with tulle and metallics, and minimal risks in silhouette. Ending on a bridal note (saving the best for last!), Lagerfeld sent his snow queen, Linsey Wixson, down the Grand Palaise isle.

Giambattista Valli

With 1950s expression, Mother Nature took her place in this collection. Fashionista's in the audience, as well as all over the world, loved the tulip shapes and butterflies resembling similar styles of Dior.

Fan BingBing shut the runway down in Stephane Rolland! She was fierce and stylish in this winter white gown. This collection was about the details. Feathers and belted waists were among the many.

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
