Prettiest Thing in Our Office This Week: A Lush Centerpiece

Rebecca Shepherd Rebecca Shepherd

Gorgeous fashion accessories, flower arrangements, wedding cakes and stationery cross our desks every day here in our New York City office. In “Prettiest Thing in Our Office This Week,” we’ll take you behind the scenes and show you our favorite item each Friday.

We had a clear winner this week — this centerpiece had us all charmed. Rebecca Shepherd of Rebecca Shepherd Floral Design created this arrangement for the week’s episode of The Knot LIVE. She stopped by the show to chat about her favorite floral trends and Anne Hathaway’s taste in flowers (Shepherd provided the florals for Hathaway’s engagement party!). Here’s what Shepherd had to say about these beautiful blooms:

“This centerpiece has a natural, organic and asymmetrical shape. No two of these types of centerpieces are the same! The color combination was a take on royalty-meets-summer-garden-wedding. I used a gorgeous lavender and white dutch hydrangea, red “Darcy” garden roses, white gomphrena, pink ranunculus, lavender scabiosas as well as scabiosa pods.”

Escort cards are extremely easy to personalize and an excellent way to bring in your wedding day colors -- from calligraphed seating cards set atop a textured linen to apples tagged with each guest's name or small personalized bundles of lavender tied off with string. Other ways to display escort cards: Pin them to a clothesline, post them on a board covered in color-coordinated ribbon, or incorporate them into your cocktail hour using personalized stirrers tagged with guests' names.
